The mold remediation process depends on several determining factors: the amount of mold present in the property, what types of surfaces the mold has contaminated, and what areas of the property have been, or not have been, contaminated.

Prior to the mold remediation process, containment procedures are considered and performed to prevent cross-contamination to unaffected parts of the building. In addition to containment, HEPA filtered negative air machines are installed to control the air quality within the work area and to protect both property owners and workers. Air scrubbers and HEPA filtered vacuums are used regularly in mold remediation projects. 

Antifungal and antimicrobial treatments are used to eliminate mold colonies and help prevent new colonies from forming. Porous building materials that have been infested by mold are carefully removed and disposed of. These materials may include drywall, flooring, or insulation.

Furniture and personal items are cleaned by SERVPRO® professionals. Industry-leading techniques are used during this process and our team is also trained to remove and eliminate odors caused by the presence of mold.

Once the affected areas are cleaned, dried, and necessary building materials are removed, repairs can be made, and the property is returned to its previous condition.
